Testimonials from leaders across the state

I fully endorse Nathan for WEAC Secretary-Treasurer because I believe he is the best person for the office. On the WEAC Board of Directors and on the Budget & Finance Committee, Nathan asks pertinent and probing questions, and I’m impressed with his grasp of the organization and how to engage and grow membership.

Nathan will give his all and will represent all of WEAC's members—Actives, Aspiring, ESPs, and Retired.
Tom Zigan
President, WEAC-Retired
Nathan is a proud unionist and someone I can count on to do the hard work of organizing. He has led his local to meaningful wins and supported fellow locals in their victories. He joined MTEA to defeat the state-legislated takeover of MPS, and he knocked doors in 2019 to help us win all five school board seats.

I’m enthusiastically voting for Nathan and I encourage you to join me.
Amy Mizialko
President, MTEA
Nathan has demonstrated time and time again why he has what it takes to be the Secretary-Treasurer of WEAC. I have had the pleasure of working with him to coordinate the Organizing training at Summer Leadership Academy. Although I was training alongside Nathan, I learned just as much from him as anyone else did at the training.

Nathan's dedication to membership organizing, rallying around candidates for public office who support public education, and his empathy for others are exactly the skill sets that make him the right person for this role.

That our union still exists is a stick in the eye of every legislator who supported Act 10. As a teacher, Nathan has continued to serve his students and his community with integrity. As an active member of our union, Nathan stands shoulder-to-shoulder with every member fighting every day to keep WEAC strong and effective in the post-Act 10 world.

I’ve had the honor of serving with Nathan on the WEAC Board of Directors and have participated in several training sessions he’s led at Professional Development and Summer Leadership Academy.

As a leader at the local, regional, and state level, Nathan takes the time to do his best for every member. I look forward to casting my vote for a leader for ALL members of WEAC.

I respect Nathan’s dedication and passion as an educator and leader. As a Summer Leadership trainer, his energy and drive were infectious. He sees a problem and organizes to solve it. I witnessed this firsthand on the WEAC Board as well.

Nathan is 100% committed to strengthening our union. As President of Region 3, his passion for unionism was evident through his work with recruitment and engagement as well as legislative advocacy. Nathan is bringing that same passion and commitment to the entire state in his role as the WEAC Secretary-Treasurer.
Jackie Baumann

Nathan understands what it takes for our union to succeed. He’s worked with individual members, grown power in his local, strengthened his region, and now brings his talents to the role of WEAC Secretary-Treasurer.

My trust, respect, and endorsement are not given lightly; they must be earned. Nathan has earned them, over and again. I trust him to do everything possible to build our organization, from the local to the state level. He has my vote.
John Havlicek
President, Region 4
On the WEAC Board and Budget & Finance Committee, Nathan has spoken up and asked questions when concerns about the budget arose or when he felt members would want clarification or change. He always looks for ways to save the membership money while growing the organization. Nathan has helped increase membership within his own region and is dedicated to doing the same at the state level.

Nathan's passion for our union and knowledge of the budget is what makes him a trusted leader; he has my wholehearted endorsement.

I support Nathan’s re-election because of his firm commitment to the educators in our state.

He has thoughtful plans for how to advocate for educators and grow our profession. Nathan has a deep understanding of the history of public policy and its effect on public education. Because Nathan has done the hard work, he understands the strategy we need to pursue for success at the polls. At WEAC's Summer Leadership Academy, I was immediately impressed with Nathan’s knowledge, passion, and ability to lead. When he shared what he was able to accomplish for his local as far as compensation and benefits, I immediately knew that he was the kind of person I wanted on my side.

I am confident that Nathan will continue to fight for WEAC members in the same way at the state level. Join me in supporting Nathan as WEAC Secretary-Treasurer.

Nathan is a proven public schools advocate. He attended rallies to support the MPS community when we were under attack by a (since-failed) legislative takeover attempt. He also joined MTEA members on Saturday mornings in 2019 to help us elect five pro-public education school board candidates. Nathan has attended many organizing events over the years and is always ready to help and give support when needed.

I stand with Nathan in his re-election bid for WEAC Secretary-Treasurer and ask you to join me!

Nathan has demonstrated leadership and loyalty to our union; he has visited with many locals across the state and has provided an important link to the aspiring educators, actives, and retired members. Nathan is professional and easily approachable when asked to provide technical information.

He understands how we work; he understands what needs to be done; and he understands the challenges we face together. I support Nathan Ugoretz for WEAC Secretary-Treasurer!

Nathan is one of the hardest-working people I know. We had the great fortune of hiring Nathan to be a member of our Social Studies Department at Port Washington High School. Not only was he an excellent teacher and coach, but he became an active member of our local's leadership team.

I've always been impressed with Nathan's intelligence, energy, and work ethic. PWSEA and Region 3 were very lucky to have him working for their members. Now WEAC has the opportunity to re-elect Nathan as Secretary-Treasurer. Nathan Ugoretz has my endorsement and support. He is one of the best.

When I was President of Region 3, Nathan was the VP. He was always dedicated and willing to do the hard work required from a leader. He presented his ideas with passion and intellect. He was loyal to the cause and earned the respect of his fellow leaders at all levels of the organization.

Nathan is the kind of leader we need to help move our organization forward.
